GreenPan Partners for Third Year With EARTHDAY.ORG to Plant Mangrove Trees in India Throughout the Month of April

April 07, 2025 --

GreenPan, award-winning inventors of PFAS-free ceramic nonstick cookware, is once again partnering with EARTHDAY.ORG to donate $1 per order placed on their website (www.GreenPan.us) throughout the month of April. As part of GreenPan’s Earth Month initiative, this partnership is dedicated to supporting sustainability and promoting eco-friendly kitchen practices. EARTHDAY.ORG seeks to inspire global environmental action, making this collaboration significant. GreenPan has planted over 20,000 trees since the partnership began two years ago.

GreenPan is participating in EARTHDAY.ORG’s 2025 The Canopy Project® which plants trees in India. For every order placed during the month of April, GreenPan will donate $1 to the project. Since 2022, over 2.4 million mangrove trees have been planted through the project. The theme for Earth Day 2025 is OUR POWER, OUR PLANET, inviting everyone around the globe to unite behind renewable energy, and to triple the global generation of clean electricity by 2030.

The main goal of this year’s project is to restore mangrove forests to protect coastal communities from but also act as natural habitats for a wide array of wildlife species.

“GreenPan is committed to encouraging sustainable and environmentally friendly practices in cooking and other aspects of daily life. We are pleased to partner with EARTHDAY.ORG's Canopy Project again this year to make a global impact. " -Jacob Maurer, global chief executive officer, The Cookware Company, makers of GreenPan.

"We are deeply grateful to GreenPan for their support of The Canopy Project. Their partnership in planting mangrove trees helps protect coastal communities and tackle climate change," says Kathleen Rogers, President of EARTHDAY.ORG. "Mangroves play a critical role in absorbing carbon from the atmosphere, making them essential in our efforts to mitigate global warming. GreenPan’s funding is helping to preserve these vital ecosystems, creating lasting change for both the environment and future generations."

Through EARTHDAY.ORG, tree planting projects take place in communities challenged by the impacts of climate change and deforestation—often drought, floods, landslides, hurricanes or forest fires—with resulting food insecurity and community destabilization. Each project includes community training and education to ensure long-term tree survival and to build sustainable economies for people most in need.

The India project will take place in the Sundarbans, a UN world heritage site and a haven for diverse flora and fauna, is endangered by a rising sea level, and frequent cyclones and storms are threatening the lives of the indigenous population and biodiversity that call these beautiful islands their home. The Indian part of Sundarbans ecosystem consists of 102 islands, 54 of which are inhabited and the other 48 forested. The inhabited islands are protected by a century-old system of ring embankments extending for over 3500 km in length. With 4.5 million people living in the Sundarbans, this project will ultimately save lives.
