A female student, who was caught in possession of marijuana, was sentenced to ten years in prison by a Dubai court on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old Sudanese woman was also accused of using tramadol, amphetamine and methamphetamine.
She has been found guilty by the Court of First Instance of possession of drugs and taking three types of narcotics.
The court ordered her deportation after serving her 10-year jail term and paying a Dh50,000 fine.
The arrest was made on February 14 this year by the Dubai Police's anti-narcotics division in Al Barsha.
The student was referred to trial after her urine sample tested positive for three types of narcotics, according to a report from the general directorate of criminal evidence and criminology.

A quantity of marijuana (0.1 gram) was found with her.
The student can appeal the court ruling within 15 days starting from its issuance date.
