Cuban rapper Chocolate MC was once again arrested in Florida after police said he robbed and kidnapped a fan who asked him for a photo.
The rapper, whose real name is Yosvanis Sierra-Hernandez, has been hit with several charges, including kidnapping with a firearm, armed robbery and written threats to kill or injure, NBC South Florida reported. The incident occurred earlier this week, outside a Chavez Supermarket in Miami, along Opa-locka Boulevard.
Police said a fan spotted Hernandez as they pulled into the grocery store. When the fan waved at the rapper and requested a selfie, Sierra-Hernandez appeared ready to oblige.
But according to an arrest report obtained by Local 10, he instead “placed a firearm on the victim’s chest and forced him to surrender his vehicle.” The rapper then “demanded cash from the victim” and “forced the victim to drive him to several locations over the course of approximately two hours before eventually releasing him.”
The victim reported the crime to authorities, and Sierra-Hernandez was taken into custody a short time later. Police said surveillance video from the supermarket corroborated the claims.
Sierra-Hernanedez was already scheduled to appear in court Wednesday under threat of imprisonment because he skipped a Tuesday court date for previous burglary and murder charges.
Back in May, he was charged for publicly advertising a bounty as part of a murder-for-hire plot, intended to kill a man who was arrested in connection with the shooting death of fellow rapper Jose “El Taiger” Carbajal.
He also faced a domestic violence battery charge in January. In 2024, Sierra-Hernandez was arrested on sexual battery, armed kidnapping and grand theft charges, records showed.
