MISSOULA — Montana Lady Griz redshirt junior Izabella Zingaro has entered the transfer portal, per an announcement on her Instagram Friday morning.
The 6-foot-4 forward played one season of basketball in Missoula, transferring from Iowa State.
"This decision was not an easy one and was not something I ever expected," Zingaro wrote. "I have decided to enter my name into the transfer portal to explore new opportunities that align with my academic and athletic goals."
Zingaro averaged 7.7 points and 3.2 rebounds this season for Montana. Her campaign was highlighted by a 25-point, eight-rebound outing at North Dakota State Dec. 4.
She started in six of the first seven games in Big Sky Conference play. She started three more games the rest of the season, but her playing time dwindled as the season came to a close. Three minutes against Idaho in the Big Sky tournament was her only appearance in Boise.
"This journey has been incredible, and Montana will always hold a special place in my heart," Zingaro continued. "I am excited for what's next and look forward to finding a place where I can continue to develop and contribute both on and off the court."
