Woman charged tied to motorcyclist death in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A woman is facing charges following a deadly crash involving a motorcyclist in Colorado Springs.

The Colorado Springs Police Department was called to the intersection of N. Academy Boulevard and York Drive on Feb. 29 at about 9:30 p.m. for a crash. The intersection is just south of Woodmen. The motorcyclist involved in the crash, 43-year-old Jacob (Jay) Munson, was taken to the hospital where he passed away.

On Wednesday, police shared an update on the investigation explaining that 58-year-old Shu Ci Wang is facing charges of Careless Driving Resulting in Death and Vehicles Turning Left. Wang was served and released on Monday.

This is the 11th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs this year. At this same time last year, there were 11 traffic fatalities. In the last 365 days, there have been 50 traffic fatalities in Colorado Springs.
