Gage Growth Corp. in Detroit, a leading cannabis brand and operator, today announced it will expand the cannabis brand Cookies to Canada for the first time, expected to be exclusively available in Ontario via the Ontario Cannabis Store, with plans to move to wider distribution across other provinces.

“For the past decade, I’ve put taste and experience first,” says Bay Area-rapper Berner, founder of Cookies. “I’m thrilled to work with Gage, a company that is just as passionate about our brand as we are, to provide Canadian consumers with some of the best flower and cannabis products available in the world.”

Gage will work with NOYA Cannabis Inc., a premium hydroponics production company, to bring to market hand-selected strains — including Gary Payton, Geogia Pir, Medillin, Lions Mane, Soap, Blanco, and more — to the market.

“Working with Berner and his team to bring COOKIES to the Canadian market is validation of the painstaking processes we’ve developed at Gage,” says Fabian Monaco, CEO of Gage. “The growth of the Canadian market creates more diverse and demanding consumers, and we’re excited to bring one of the best-known cannabis brands in the world to customers across Canada.”

According to Illinois-based Brightfield Group, a cannabis and CBD consumer insights and data analytics group, grew 118 percent last year and are expected to grow another 60 percent this year. The first quarter of 2021 was also the first time sales in the legal market eclipsed that of the illicit market.

Founded in Hamilton, Ontario in 2014, NOYA Cannabis Inc. is a licensed producer under the Cannabis Act. The company received its cultivation license in 2017, and its sales license in 2018. The company has positioned itself as a premium producer and works with the largest cannabis brands in the world. The company’s mission is to distribute and cultivate premium craft cannabis to match the needs of the market.

Gage Growth Corp. aims to provide the highest quality cannabis experiences possible for consumers in the state of Michigan and in Canada, bringing internationally renowned brands to market. Gage’s portfolio includes city and state approvals for 19 “Class C” cultivation licenses, three processing licenses and 15 provisioning centers.
