A woman has been apprehended by the US Marshals after a three-week manhunt stemming from the deadly shooting of a former Florida state senator's son, which prosecutors say was the result of a twisted love triangle involving the suspect's ex-girlfriend.
Lakoria Washington, 24, was arrested in suburban Daytona Beach on Monday on an out-of-county warrant charging her with first-degree murder, armed burglary and possession of a weapon by a felon.
Washington is suspected of breaking into her ex-girlfriend's apartment at the Monte Carlo Condominiums on Northwest 165th Street in Miami on the night of June 1, and fatally shooting 23-year-old Jason Campbell, whom she had found in bed with her former lover.

Police found Campbell's lifeless body in the parking of the apartment complex, and then followed a trail of blood to the crime scene
Campbell, the son of former State Senator Daphne Campbell, was said to have been dating Washington's ex-girlfriend at the time of his death.
According to court documents cited by Miami Herald, the woman who was sleeping with Campbell narrowly escaped death by running out of her apartment and hiding in a laundry room.
She later told police she heard a gunshot but did not witness the shooting.
Police were called to the scene at around 8.30am on June 1 and found Campbell dead from gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the building at 494 NW 165th Street.
Officers following a trail of blood, which led them to the apartment where the attack happened.

Campbell's mother, a Democrat who served in the Florida Senate for two years and was a three-term state representative, wrote on her Facebook at the time: 'I did not know a mother should bury a child rather a child should bury their parents.'
Prior to Washington's arrest, Daphne Campbell called on her son's alleged killer to turn herself in

Prior to Washington's capture, Daphne Campbell told NBC Miami she did not know the suspect and tearfully called on her to turn herself in.
Miami-Dade Police last week identified Washington, who has an extensive criminal record, as the suspect in the killing after reviewing surveillance video that allegedly showed her enter the apartment complex minutes before the shooting.
US Marshals on Monday tracked her down to Port Orange, located some 250 miles away from the scene of the crime.
As of Wednesday afternoon, she remained at the Volusia County jail pending her extradition to Miami-Dade County.
Washington has an extensive criminal history (pictured in her old mugshots). She spent a year in jail on a 2015 grand theft auto conviction
Court records reveal that the 24-year-old suspect spent a year in jail on a 2015 grand theft auto conviction, followed by two years of probation that had run out in 2018.
In 2016, Washington was found guilty of cannabis possession but got off with a fine.
Her record also includes arrests on counts of robbery and probation violation, but it is unclear how those cases have been resolved.
Upon learning of Washington's arrest, Daphne Campbell wrote on Facebook Wednesday: 'To God Be The Glory. Justice is on the way for my baby boy....RIP my loving and handsome son. Mommy loves so much and miss you. Have your time with your master.'
