Search for missing Nebraska man suspended in Hawaii
23 year old Samuel Martinez has a travel bucket list for the summer break between his junior and senior year at U. N. L. Hawaii was on the top of his list. So he set out from Eppley, May 12th landing in Hawaii Hawaii. Later that afternoon his plan hike, the island eight reserved different campsites throughout the west and southwest side of his. Dad says Sam walked from the airport, hitched a ride to a grocery store, then got on his hike. This selfies from his walk. Samuel was set to return home after 10 days on May 25th but he didn't, he hasn't checked in either. We we were overwhelmed with concern at that point, his family called Lincoln police who called Hawaii police launching a missing persons case. He did not make it to the airport. There's no video surveillance footage of him and nor did he check in. His parents believe he may be hurt and in need of help. Sam's dad says the island is treacherous and his son is not an experienced hiker. But they're hopeful we are honestly Samuel is there and he's okay and he needs help getting out and we need to just get to him and help him find his way out. They say the people of Cowie and nebraskans have been amazing and they know Sam's search is in good hands. Sam is going to be back shortly. Hang in there and help us get the message to cry. And that we want our Nebraska man back and uh, that we will help them in turn someday just as well. Mm.
