Mid-Iowa Drug Task Force arrests four, seizes marijuana and $5,000 cash

Four men are behind bars on a variety of drug charges following a raid by the Mid-Iowa Drug Task Force early Tuesday morning.

Marshall County Sheriff Steve Hoffman said two search warrants were executed, one at 312 N. Second St., Marshalltown, where three suspects were arrested, and a second at 208 W. Lincoln St. where one suspect was taken into custody. Cumulatively, authorities recovered $5,000 cash, more than two pounds of marijuana and one gram of methamphetamine.

Taken to Marshall County Jail were:

• Kevin Alexander, charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, a Class B felony, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, a Class D felony, and failure to purchase a drug tax stamp, a Class D felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Roberto Conteras Flores, charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, and two counts of failure to purchase a drug tax stamp and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Ruano Hernandez, charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, failure to purchase a drug tax stamp and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Ivan Ramirez Morales, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, two counts of failure to purchase a drug tax stamp and possession of drug paraphernalia.

All are being held on $25,000 cash-only bond.

At their initial hearing Wednesday, a magistrate appointed all a public defender. All have preliminary hearings Jan. 18.
