Cara Delevingne celebrates her 26th birthday with a marijuana leaf-shaped cake and a dress held together with 24-carat gold rings, two days before confirming her new romance with actress Ashley Benson
How do you celebrate your 26th birthday when you're Britain's highest-paid model, with a reputed fortune of £14 million?
In Cara Delevingne's case, with a cake baked in the shape of marijuana leaf at a party in the South of France, where you don a dress held together with 24-carat gold rings.
'It was a very select gathering,' one of her circle tells me. The party was attended by Welsh fashion designer Julien Macdonald, creator of the black knitted frock worn by Cara, whose dark blonde hair was styled in cornrow braids.

Macdonald shared a video online of Cara blowing out the candle on her cannabis-themed cake.
Cara was later seen at Heathrow kissing her new love, U.S. actress Ashley Benson, 28.
The star of hit series Pretty Little Liars, who wore a necklace with a 'C' for Cara on it, has previously been linked only with men.

Natalie Rushdie, 31, married to the novelist's son, Zafar, was devastated last week to be told she needed emergency surgery to remove a heart monitor
Rushie wife's heart surgery shock aged 31
Sir Salman Rushdie's daughter-in-law discovered last year that she had two holes in her heart.
And singer Natalie Rushdie, 31, married to the novelist's son, Zafar, was devastated last week to be told she needed emergency surgery to remove a heart monitor.
'I was so shocked I broke down,' Natalie (pictured, left, after her op) reveals. 'It was a mixture of pain, infection and realising your body wasn't recovering.
'I asked [the consultant] to allow me to delay by a couple of days so I could mentally prepare, but he said very calmly: 'I want you to breathe and relax but you have a problem and it needs to come out today.'
The talents of the Queen's furniture-making nephew David Linley have never been in doubt.
But now his wife, Serena, appears ready to demonstrate artistry of her own. She has been spotted at the £2,500-a-week Catalyst Art Retreat in Tuscany, learning to sculpt animal bronzes.
'She's very talented,' I'm told. Catalyst promises to 'reignite the smouldering embers of your creative fire'.
Will David — the 2nd Earl of Snowdon since his father's death last year — be able to compete with smouldering Serena?
