Millions of US  taxpayers who waited until Tuesday, April 17  to file their 2017 tax returns and make payments through the IRS  website were thwarted for hours by a systemwide computer failure that advised last-minute filers to “come back on Dec. 31, 9999.”

Eight Argentinian police officers have been fired after half a ton of marijuana went missing from a police warehouse. The officers initially claimed that mice had eaten the drug, but experts from Buenos Aires University said rodents would not have mistaken cannabis for food.
