Christopher Wilson

DERRY, La. -- A Baker man wanted in South Louisiana in connect with a woman's stabbing death was arrested in Natchitoches Parish Wednesday night, Sheriff Stuart Wright said Friday.

Natchitoches Parish sheriff's Lt. Brandon Smith found Christopher Jerome Wilson II, 25, on Interstate 49 just north of Derry. Wilson was on a bicycle with a flat tire. He told Smith he needed help airing up the tire.

Smith put the bicycle in the rear of his Ford F-150 patrol truck. Before driving off, though, Smith, for his safety, searched Wilson and his backpack.

Wilson admitted to having a small amount of marijuana in his possession. He had more in the backpack, along with scales.

Wilson was placed under arrest. A warrants check then showed he was wanted for domestic abuse in Tangipahoa Parish.

He was taken to the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center, where Smith got a call from a Tangipahoa Parish sheriff's detective who identified Wilson as a suspect in a homicide that happened Saturday near Hammond.

Wilson was booked on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and domestic abuse battery from Tangipahoa Parish. He also was placed on a hold for Tangipahoa until their detectives arrived to pick him up.

Wilson is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Carol Allen, 31, a mother of four who was stabbed multiple times in the back seat of a car and died later at a New Orleans hospital.

Allen and Wilson reportedly met in Hammond for a date. During their time together, Wilson is alleged to have attacked Allen in an attempt to steal her car.

Wright commended Smith for taking the extra steps during his interaction with Wilson to identify and determine he was a wanted person and presumed murder suspect in south Louisiana.
